Effective Date: January 2026
Applies To: Audiobooks, EPs, podcasts, trailers, videos, games, and all multimedia productions released by vmPublishing, LLC
This policy establishes how vmPublishing, LLC (“vmPublishing”) creates, licenses, credits, and distributes music generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI). It is designed to ensure legal compliance, transparency, and consistency across all releases while protecting vmPublishing’s intellectual property.
vmPublishing may incorporate AI-generated music in, but not limited to:
· Audiobooks and spoken-word productions
· Music EPs and albums
· Podcasts and serialized audio
· Video trailers, films, and promotional media
· Games, interactive media, and digital experiences
AI-generated music may be used as:
· Background or underscore music
· Intro/outro themes
· Ambient or atmospheric compositions
· Standalone musical works (EPs or albums)
vmPublishing uses reputable AI music generation platforms that explicitly grant commercial use rights under paid subscription plans. Examples may include, but are not limited to:
· Suno AI (commercial subscription tier)
· Other platforms with documented commercial and synchronization licenses
Policy Requirements:
· Music must be generated while an active commercial subscription is in effect.
· Free-tier or personal-use-only outputs may not be used in commercial releases.
· Commercial rights are retained for works generated during the paid subscription period, even if the subscription later ends, subject to the platform’s terms.
· Lyrics, scripts, narration, and other human-authored creative elements are fully copyrighted by vmPublishing, LLC.
· vmPublishing asserts and retains all applicable rights in these human-created components.
· Musical compositions generated entirely by AI may not qualify for traditional copyright protection under current U.S. law.
· vmPublishing does not claim human authorship of fully AI-generated musical compositions unless substantial original human musical input is added.
· vmPublishing relies on the commercial license granted by the AI platform, not copyright ownership, to lawfully use and distribute AI-generated music.
Unless otherwise required by a specific platform’s license, attribution to the AI music provider is not mandatory. However, vmPublishing adopts a transparency-first approach.
